Hey. Tomorrow I may go fishing. I realize I go fishing everyday. That's because I don't have a job. I am unemployed useless college graduate. Graphic Design. I have an edgy style and corporate America doesn't want my subject matter.
But tomorrow I might just do something else besides fishing. Perhaps rearrange the furniture in my house. Cuz I'm gonna have some new roommates next month... But maybe in the afternoon I'll try soaking some bait down the street. I live near a cove, on the Carquinez straight in Vallejo California. They have Stripers, Sturgeon, Smelt, and the occasional Salmon there. I'll probably be going for Striped Bass (Stripers). The Fall migration is kicking in. And I already had my limit of Salmon this season. The Salmon season ends Nov 13 here.
Today I went Perch Grubbing as you can see from my earlier report. I like Perch grubbing. Its real fishing. You have to find the fish. Use special gear and a special technique. Its not like slot machine fishing for Salmon. Its not stinky bait and wait for hours and hours while crabs and little shakers steal your bait. And perch tastes good. I ate the deep fried perch. I may have overcooked one of the two smaller fish and it didn't taste too good. I marinated it in vinegar and garlic overnight. The next morning I was afraid it was standing around thawed too long so I stuck it back in the freezer. Perhaps the juices didn't soak in when I threw the partially frozen fish in the wok.
I may steam the perch next time. But I am gonna wait on eating fish cuz of the mercury buildup threat.
Oh, yeah. I do practice catch and release at times. Especially big Stripers.
